Where did the time go?

August 3rd, 2009 by Lauren & Lawrence

Just over 6 weeks to go now. Banns are all read, and today we met with Rev. Julia who will be performing our service, to give her an outline of what we would like. Lauren has shoes and some bits of jewellery and her dress is now definitely somewhere between London and Paris.

Flower girls outfits are now sorted thanks to Lauren's mum and her keen shopping / tailoring skills. We will be doing the flowers ourselves, but very excited about going shopping in New Covent Garden Market for flowers and props with the excellent Simon Lycett (who has provided flowers for Posh & Becks wedding, Elton John and Harrods to name a few)!

We've chosen wedding rings, added some invitation-making photos (including gratuitous shots of our neighbours' kittens) to the pictures page, and selected a cake for gastronomically gifted Hannah to make for us.

All aboard the wedding bus...

Mar 18, 2009 by Lauren & Lawrence

We have booked a Routemaster double decker bus for the day. The bus will take guests from Horwood House to All Saints Church, for guests who wish to leave their cars at the hotel or are staying the night before. It will then collect Lauren and Bernie, and then take everybody from the church to the hotel after the ceremony. This means that non-drivers travelling up by train on Friday can walk to the church from Leighton Buzzard station (trains from Euston) and then hop on the bus to the hotel. Also, anybody who doesn't fancy figuring out Leighton Buzzard parking and directions can just go straight to the hotel and get the wedding bus. Clear as mud? Drop us a line for more details.

The routemaster served from 1967 to 2004 and once provided the 140 route some of us are familiar with! Space on the bus may be limited so please let Lauren or Lawrence know if you are bussing it with us!

Food Sorted!

We've now been for a menu tasting and chosen meals for the day. See the reception page for food details and the pictures page for food-tasting pics!

Gifts.

Jan 21, 2009 by Lauren & Lawrence

As we've been together for a some time we've naturally accumulated all that we need so when we are asked what we'd like for a wedding gift, we are stumped for things to say. We saw this poem below and it really speaks for us.

~We haven't got a wedding list,
the reasons we'll explain.
It's to save you all the hassle,
as shopping is a pain.
So if you'd like to contribute
towards our honeymoon,
we offer you our heartfelt thanks,
with love, the bride and groom.~

We've found a reception venue!

Oct 20, 2008 by Lauren & Lawrence

We have now found our venue at Horwood House, a lovely manor house in Little Horwood, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. We have decided on the 25th September to coincide with our 12th anniversary together and a year since our engagement.
